Louise Wood, Cheshire based Photographer Behind the scenes picture of Louise working at her home studio in Wilmslow.
I am first and foremost wife to the love of my life Barry and mum to our two energetic children Charlie (5yr) and Ruby (4yr). We live in Wilmslow in our home that we have spent the last 9yrs renovating (lots of blood sweat & tears !!)
I love my family, I love catching up with friends old & new, I love good food (buying, cooking and eating it!!), I love the chaos of being part of a large family (I'm an auntie to two grown up young ladies, two teenagers, three cheeky nephews and one equally cheeky little girl), I NEED Nespresso, I love dark chocolate, I love gin (lol), I love long walks, I love the sunlight just before sunset in summer, I love soft fabrics and most things girly, I love singing & dancing (badly) to loud music and finally I love shoes...(I've not had much chance to indulge in these since the kids came along !!)
After graduating with a BA Hons in Media & Management from Leeds I began my 11 year career in brand / customer marketing working for some of the worlds largest brands....EMAP Radio, Sky and Disney. In 2010 with the support of Barry & my family I finally found the courage to quit my 9-5 job and set up my own business doing something I truly loved!! I have always loved photographing people.....I love getting to know them, hearing their stories - how they met, what the birth of their children was like etc... I find people fascinating and want to capture personalities rather than fake smiles. When my dad died in 2004 it really hit home to me just how important photographs really are. Apart from my memories all I have left of him are my photographs and they are now more precious to me than I could have ever imagined, I treasure them dearly. I can honestly say I feel so lucky & blessed to be invited to capture the love between a family, especially in those very precious newborn days. I hope to capture beautiful, natural images of all my families that will last a lifetime.
I started out as most photographers do by taking pictures of my friends & their children....it was just a hobby that I loved doing and was actually quite good at. I then fell pregnant with my son a year into the business and everything went on hold for the next 3 years while I was pregnant / breastfeeding / pregnant again and breastfeeding again....until I met Stacey in a park during the summer of 2013 and 3 months later 'Nurtured with Love' was born.
I work part time 3 days a week and the occasional weekend (....and a few late nights too), the rest of my time is spent with my hubby and our favorite little people before they grow up and decide they no longer want to hang out with mummy & daddy. It's taken a while to adjust but I love working from home /for myself now, balancing my working life with my home life. I am also so lucky to have found such an amazing photography 'wife' Stacey who shares not only the same day to day 'mum' challenges balancing family & work like I do but we also share the same dreams, values ambitions which is one of the reasons we have grown so fast - its amazing what 2 mums can do when they put their heads together ;>
Looking forward to meeting you and your family very soon.
